Geocache Challenge (2022)

Harbour Grace Geocache Challenge (2022)

If you’re participating in the 2022 Harbour Grace Geocache Challenge, welcome!

Here are the rules to participate:

1. Each of the geocaches is located near a historic site. Their GPS coordinates, in ‘decimal degree’ form (DD), can be found at the bottom of this page. There are four locations in total.

HINT: The geocaches are shaped like small wooden chests–think Peter Easton!

2. To participate, entrants must pickup their geocache card from the Town Hall or download the card here. There’s a limit of one entry per person.

3. There are four circles on each geocache card, one for each site. When you locate a geocache, open the chest and inside you’ll find a coloured sticker. Attach the sticker to the appropriate circle on your geocache card. For example, if you find a geocache at ‘SITE 1’ and the sticker inside the chest is BLUE, attach this BLUE sticker to the ‘SITE 1’ circle on your geocache card. Easy!

4. After visiting each site and completing your geocache card, submit it to the Town Office at 112 Water Street, Harbour Grace. Make sure to sign your name and contact info on the geocache card before submitting. If you have any issues submitting, call 596-3631 ext. 4 and arrangements can be made. You can also email pictures or scans of completed cards to .

5. Fully complete, correct cards will be entered into a contest for a Home is Harbour Grace: Come Home 2022 Celebrations prize pack.

6. The stickers on your geocache card must correspond to the correct colour scheme at each site. Any other colour schemes will be considered incorrect and will not be entered in the draw.

7. The prize pack draw will be held on July 31, 2022. This is a Come Home 2022 Geocache Challenge, so time is limited!

8. Please do not alter the geocaches when you find them. This is very important for other people to participate. Take your sticker, sign the guestbook at each box, take a picture, leave a trinket or token, etc., but do not move or damage the boxes. Thanks!

9. Participants assume all liability and enter the contest at their own risk!
