St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Cemetery

History

Established in 1854 on land gifted by merchant John Munn, the Presbyterian Church (The “Kirk”) served the faithful in Harbour Grace until 1941. Church property included a manse on Victoria Street (later Dr. Charles Cron’s clinic) and a cemetery, St. Andrew’s, on Military Rd.

St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Cemetery remains one of Harbour Grace’s most unique cemeteries, with memorials to several prominent families who influenced the town’s development through the second half of the nineteenth century and into the twentieth.

The Town of Harbour Grace designated St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Cemetery a Municipal Heritage Site on August 23, 2021.
